An online petition to save the beloved Mexican Pizza from leaving the Taco Bell menu is trending on social media and itโs gaining more followers by the minute. However, beginning Nov. 5, Taco Bell will be getting rid of the Mexican Pizza, pico de gallo, and shredded chicken. โCurrently, Mexican Pizza packaging accounts for over 7 million pounds of paperboard material per year in the U.S.,โ Taco Bell said in a news release. The Mexican Pizza combo will be replaced with a Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme combo. The Mexican Pizza is a crisp tortilla shell topped with refried beans and a layer of taco beef, which makes the โcrust," topped with Mexican pizza sauce, a three-cheese blend and tomatoes, according to Taco Bellโs website.

Taco Bell removing even more items from its menu starting Nov. 5
Starting Nov. 5, Taco Bell will be getting rid of the following items:Mexican pizzapico de galloshredded chickenThe chain says by getting rid of its Mexican Pizza, it will cut down on the packaging it uses for the menu item. Currently, Mexican Pizza packaging accounts for over 7 million pounds of paperboard material per year in the U.S., Taco Bell said in a news release. Taco Bell says fresh tomatoes will be replacing its pico de gallo. The Shredded Chicken Soft Taco, Shredded Chicken Burrito, and Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt will also be off the menu by Nov. 5. Taco Bell says it is also testing the return of its Quesalupa in Knoxville, Tennessee, starting Sept. 24 before bringing it back to menus nationwide next year.
Taco Bell, Spurs donate free meals to Methodist healthcare workers amid pandemic
SAN ANTONIO โ Taco Bell and the San Antonio Spurs partnered to deliver free meals to San Antonio Methodist Healthcare System workers. A total of 1,200 meals were delivered as a token of appreciation for the healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. โGiving back to the community is important to Taco Bell and would not be possible without the leadership of Mark Peterson and Krystal Burge who give us the opportunity to proudly represent our company and the Taco Bell Brand. This was our way to say thank you to our healthcare workers who are true heroes," Russ Cook, regional director, said in a statement. The first case confirmed in the U.S. was in mid-January and the first case confirmed in San Antonio was in mid-February.
