Hit-or-miss showers and storms now look to pop up as early as Friday

Hit-or-miss showers possible through the weekend

Key Points

  • Humid and warm Wednesday with skies gradually clearing in the afternoon
  • Breezy, muggy, and generally cloudy Thursday with a few morning sprinkles to a stray shower possible
  • Daily chances for hit-or-miss showers and storms now look more possible Friday and through the weekend
  • Not a wash-out of a weekend, but keep the umbrella handy!

Highs trend cooler this weekend and into early next week following a pair of cold fronts

Wednesday (3/13)

  • After patchy mist and fog Wednesday morning, skies gradually clear from west to east in the afternoon
  • Highs reach for the low-to-mid 80s for most, and could close in on the 90 degree mark closer to the Rio Grande

Thursday (3/14)

  • A warmer, muggy morning with lows in the mid-60s in San Antonio and a few sprinkles for the morning drive
  • Mostly cloudy skies will likely hold high temperatures to the upper 70s
  • Just a stray shower or storm possible into the afternoon and evening, most stay dry

Friday (3/15)

  • Lows in the mid-60s are followed by highs in the mid-to-upper 70s in San Antonio
  • Hit-or-miss showers and storms (~40%) are possible locally as a cold front approaches from the north
  • An isolated storm or two could become strong or severe. Not a guarantee, but we’ll be watching!

Saturday (3/16) - Sunday (3/17)

  • Another chance for widely scattered showers and storms (~40%) is in the cards again Saturday and Sunday
  • Not a complete wash-out of a weekend, but keeping the umbrella/rain gear in the car would be a good idea
  • High temperatures cooler following Friday’s cold front, in the 60s/near 70 degrees along with breezy northeast winds
