SAN ANTONIO – Travis Early College High School celebrated its nomination Friday as a Texas Blue Ribbon School.
The school is only one of two in the city to be nominated, and the only school in the San Antonio Independent School District.
Travis Principal Adrianna Arrendondo said that Travis is where college dreams can become realities.
“I am ecstatically proud of my students,” Arrendondo said. "Some want to be engineers, some want to be teachers, some want to be accountants. Once they leave us, they graduate. Then they go onto the university. Then in hopefully two years or so, they graduate with their bachelor’s degree.”
The celebration, sponsored by San Antonio College and SAISD, recognized Travis' achievements and performance based on state exams, accountability, graduation rate and college readiness.
