Man shot multiple times, killed at Northwest Side motel

Disagreement led to shooting, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 20s was shot to death at a Northwest Side motel, police said.

The victim’s body was found in a room at the In-Town Suites Extended Stay Living in the 7400 block of Culebra Road.

San Antonio police Sgt. Thomas Haymaker said the man was shot multiple times.

"(A) guy shot through a window and we have one deceased," Haymaker said.

Haymaker said the victim appeared to be in his 20s and was shot multiple times.

"It looks like a dispute between tenants. Two different tenants in the complex," he said.

Police weren't sure how many people were in the room where the man was killed.

"You know from what we're hearing we're getting some conflicting stuff but I'd say there were a few people in the room," said Haymaker.

About a dozen San Antonio police vehicles and a handful of CSI detectives swarmed the hotel shortly after the shooting was reported by a hotel employee. The shooting happened in a second-floor room that had a window facing the street. Haymaker said it began as a disagreement and turned deadly.

"Somebody came over banging on one of the doors.  And there was a little bit of struggle to keep the door shut," said Haymaker.

Haymaker said the crime scene had some degree of complexity and confusion that was exacerbated by so many people living in close proximity. Haymaker said police took seven people downtown to be interviewed.

"We're still working on witnesses and trying to identify suspects," Haymaker said.

Haymaker said it was unclear if any of the people taken for questioning are considered suspects. "They've got some names and some people that aren't around.  And so homicide is out here now they're working on that," he said.
