FREEPORT, Texas – Authorities found 540 bundles of cocaine in a donated box of bananas in the Texas coastal city of Freeport, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice tweeted Friday.
According to the tweet, authorities from the Wayne Scott Unit in Brazoria County alerted U.S. Customs and Border Protection after finding bundles of white powder in the cardboard boxes advertising organic bananas.

Officials estimate the bundles are worth $17.8 million.
The DEA and CBP are investigating how the cocaine was shipped to the jail.
