New Braunfels police are investigating the Monday morning shooting deaths of two people in a mobile home park.
According to New Braunfels police, officers were called to the Windgate Mobile Home Park, located in the 2800 block of Windgate Drive, around 7 a.m. on Monday.
Police said a "family member" found the bodies of the victims -- identified as 37-year-old Elizabeth Trevino and 39-year-old Augustine Garcia, both of New Braunfels -- inside a bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds to their heads.
"I think it's tough anytime you lose a member of the community," said New Braunfels police Capt. John McDonald.
Police said the pair were common-law married and lived at the mobile home with other family members.
"Nobody would expect it," said neighbor Jose Juarez. "It's a calm neighborhood, nothing like this usually happens."
