SAN ANTONIO – Family of a 3-year-old girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and given only a 20 percent chance of survival are hosting a celebration for the child.
Family of Auria Eve Valdez will celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Auria’s birthday on Monday and the community is invited to join in on the fun.

Auria, the daughter of a San Antonio Police Department officer, has battled a rare form of leukemia since she was an infant. She was placed on hospice care on Sept. 19.
Hero WATCH, a nonprofit group, is holding a "Celebrate Auria Fun-raiser" and is inviting the community to attend.
The event will be held at Aggie Park and Banquet Hall at 6205 West Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizers are asking attendees for a $5 donation, which will grant people a ticket to all of the fun. The event will go on rain or shine.
The nonprofit has organized a variety of events, allowing kids to take a picture with Santa, sport a Halloween costume, hunt for eggs with the Easter Bunny.
The group said characters including The Batman of San Antonio, Star Wars figures, McGruff the Crime Dog, Sparky and H-E-Buddy will be in attendance.
Donations will be accepted in the form of cash, check or credit card. All funds raised will go to Auria's family.
Those unable to donate can make a donation on the Hero WATCH website and notate the donation “In Honor of Auria.”
