2nd suspect arrested in Alamo Heights shooting death

Dayne Spivey, 17, turned himself in to authorities late Thursday

SAN ANTONIO – A teen wanted by police in Alamo Heights for the murder of a 17-year-old is now in the Bexar County Jail.

According to Alamo Heights police, Dayne Spivey turned himself in to San Antonio police around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

SAPD notified the Alamo Heights Police Department that they had Spivey in custody.

"It's a very good thing to get both suspects responsible for the shooting in custody in a short amount of time. I know the family was very glad to hear the news of both suspects being in jail," Alamo Heights police SGT. Tom Vitacco said. "The investigation is by no means completed."

Spivey, 17, was wanted in connection with the slaying of 17-year-old Tristan Compean, whose body was found in the middle of a street in Alamo Heights early Monday morning. Police said Compean had been shot several times.

Police say Compean had been attending a party in the 6800 block of Broadway when he left to do a drug deal that went bad.

Authorities said Compean got into the car with Spivey and Michael Teneyuque, 19, who was arrested and charged with capital murder on Monday.

Police believe Spivey and Teneyuque tried to rob Compean before he was shot.

Teneyuque is being held in the Bexar County Jail on a half-million-dollar bail.

Spivey is being charged with capital murder.
