SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the Deputy Sheriff’s Association have reached a collective-bargaining agreement.
The two side have been negotiating for several months.

The sheriff’s office said the new agreement will “ensure accountability and quality work performance” in addition to new benefits for members, including:
1. 16.25% raise for Detention Sergeants and above and all Law Enforcement Tier over four years. With the first right percent in the first year.
2. 15 percent raise for detention officers and detention corporals over four years
3. $500 lump sum bonus
4. $50 per month for critical incident response members including SERT, SWAT, ERT, and negotiators
5. Certification pay for detention personnel certified by the American Jail Association or American Correctional Association
6. $25 per week for detention and patrol training officers
7. Suspension of spousal insurance surcharge
The new terms of the agreement must be approved by members of the association and the Bexar County Commissioners Court before taking effect.
