BCSO: Warrant issued for teen after SWAT standoff

SAN ANTONIO – A warrant for the arrest of a 17-year-old has been issued following a standoff between the teen and Bexar County Sheriff's SWAT officers Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff's investigators said the teen fired a gun into the air after he got upset with a repo man who took a vehicle from the property in the 6700 block of Walzem Road in Northeast Bexar County.

They said the teen then barricaded himself in a mobile home.

The nearby private school at the Christian World Worship Center was put on lockdown during the standoff. That church is located right next to the mobile home park.

Mobile home park residents were told to stay indoors.

SWAT officers entered the home soon after and found that the teen had fled.

"After doing a search inside the home, we discovered no one was inside," said Bexar County Sheriff's spokesman James Keith. "However, we did find a hole in the floor. This home is also surrounded by brush, so it's possible that the suspect somehow got out through the floor and ran off into some nearby woods."

Sheriff's investigators have not publicly released the name of the teen, but they know who he is and have a warrant issued for his arrest.
