SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County commissioners are in discussions with a local developer to revive the site of the old Hot Wells resort.
The project would turn the land on the South Side into a public park and historic site that connects to the trails along the Mission Reach of the river.

The current owner of the property has stabilized the bath house ruins, capped a well on the site and developed plans for the project.
Commissioners say he will donate the property to the county to operate and maintain.
The total cost of the redevelopment is about $2.7 million which is slated to come out of next year's budget.
The money would be used to renovate buildings, landscaping and build more street access.
