SAN ANTONIO – A far West Bexar County homeowner hopes that what she caught on camera will help sheriff’s deputies catch a thief who she said stole one of her inflatable Christmas decorations from her front lawn early Tuesday morning.
The woman, who did not want to reveal her identity, shared surveillance video with KSAT 12 News, which she believes shows the man who tried to ruin her holiday spirit.
The video shows a vehicle driving up outside the home in The Reserve at Luckey Ranch subdivision. A man is seen getting out of the car and walking over to an inflatable figure of Snoopy, the dog from the “Peanuts” comic strip, unplugging the decoration and driving off with it.
“The cord was actually underneath the brick,” said the homeowner, pointing to the area where the holiday display had been. "He actually cut the rope. The rope was still there the next morning."
She said she filed a report with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and soon found out that others in her neighborhood and elsewhere had done the same.

"(Thieves) had already hit three others,” she said. “And on our neighborhood Facebook page the next morning, we had about six people say, ‘You can add us to the list.’"
She said a deputy also told her that four other homes in another nearby subdivision were hit and that there were thefts in other neighborhoods on the other side of Highway 90.
The homeowner hopes her video will help investigators solve the case so that she can have Snoopy back home in time for the holidays.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6300.
