The organization’s mission is to bring a smile back to the faces of grieving children. A message that the director of the organization hopes to get through to everyone is that no child should have to lose a parent or guardian to senseless violence.
“When you've been impacted in a way that you can relate to, it’s that empathy and passion that you just have that care, that concern. And because I can relate to having someone taken so senselessly by gun violence, we're a family. We come together as a family of support and just being able to be there for each other,” said Kim Anderson, director of Gifts of Love from Above.
Presents were big and small, and the children got to visit with Santa Claus, too. They even got to play dress-up with the firefighters’ coats.
