Crews respond to 4-alarm fire on Northwest Side

SAN ANTONIO – Emergency crews responded to a 4-alarm fire on the Northwest Side at a shopping center.

A call for the fire at the shopping center in the 6700 block Ingram Road came in about 9 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities said three firefighters were stuck in the building, but were pulled out.

Two firefighters were taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center by ambulance. One was waiting to be airlifted to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The fire was upgraded to a 4-alarm fire about 10:35 p.m.

Robert Guerra, owner of Computer Repair Plus, a store in the shopping center, said he was able to see the fire in surveillance video from his business. His security system notified him about the fire.

The fire department told Guerra the fire started at the Texas Thrift Store and spread to other stores in the shopping center.

Guerra said his business is a total loss.

Fire crews are still monitoring the fire and will continue investigating to determine what caused it.
