An investigator with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office obtained the warrant for Perkins' arrest.

The arrest affidavit stated that on several occasions Perkins presented himself as the nephew of the elderly man, including once in February when he checked the victim into a nursing home.

The affidavit stated that Perkins obtained power of attorney over him, withdrew more than $92,000 from his bank accounts and changed the deed on the man's East side home into his name.

Investigators said the 84-year-old victim suffers from severe dementia.

Investigators said they located some of his real relatives who told them Perkins had been keeping the victim isolated from them.
