SAN ANTONIO – Former H-E-B employee Javier Guerra, 38, is accused of stealing more than $200,000 worth of the supermarket's computer equipment. Guerra was arrested Wednesday on a theft charge.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, two H-E-B employees noticed two large computer chassis, worth more than $24,000 each, were missing from the store in the 15100 block of Huebner Road last Tuesday.
A special FBI street team, which includes members of the San Antonio Police Department, began investigating and learned that Guerra had submitted his resignation from the company by email the day after the equipment was discovered missing, the affidavit stated.
H-E-B employees at the store, meanwhile, took inventory and realized that, in addition to the missing chassis, someone had taken other computer components, including fibre modules, fibre channels, SFP modules, server licenses, and storage licenses, as well as a Dell laptop computer, the affidavit stated.
Investigators obtained surveillance pictures which they said showed Guerra carrying the two computer chassis out of the store, the affidavit stated.
