Family, friends gather to remember 2 men killed outside West Side bar

Oscar Gomez, Nazareth Marquez killed outside Clumsy Cricket

SAN ANTONIO – Family and friends gathered Saturday night to remember two men killed outside a bar early Thursday morning.

Michelle Gomez could not believe the news.

"I was like ‘What do you mean they're dead? Are you sure they're dead? Are you sure did he just get shot? Is he OK?’" Gomez said.

The man she has shared her life with for 25 years was gone.

Gomez’ husband, Oscar, and nephew, Nazareth Marquez, were at the Clumsy Cricket Thursday morning, Michelle believes her husband was treating Marquez to a beer since he just turned 21.

Michelle believes words were exchanged before gunfire rang out.

"Why was it worth taking two lives over? A bad look? If that's what it was or words being exchanged.  Words don't do anything,” she said.

Michelle said they were planning one daughter’s birthday, and preparing to see their youngest daughter graduate from pre-kindergarten.

Now she is planning the father of three’s funeral.

Louis Munoz, 36, has been charged with capital murder in connection to the crime.

The family will be hosting a taco plate sale Sunday from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at 6334 Buena Vista Road on the city's West Side.
