SAN ANTONIO – A father is hoping someone can help lead investigators to new evidence that might help find his daughter's killer after more than 20 years.
Brenda Epperson, 24, was found dead in her third floor apartment on May 17, 1992.
Police said the killer fled the scene.
To this day, Charles Epperson, Brenda's father, says her killer is still walking free.
"What I would like to know is why she was killed," said Epperson.
He said the afternoon after she was murdered, he knew something was wrong when he saw his son running to him on the golf course.
"He said that somebody killed Brenda," he said. "The detective, he called me and he told me that she was murdered about 3:45 that morning in her apartment."
Later that same year, a man was arrested for her murder.
He was convicted, but that conviction was later thrown out on appeal, after it ruled that a witness identification in court should not have been allowed.
"We just have to try to find some more evidence that will convince the appeals division that will have to make the decision," Epperson said.
At this point, Epperson said he is hoping some new information will surface, so they can use it in court.

Epperson said Wednesday that even when his daughter's killer is finally behind bars, he'll never forget that day.
"It was quite a surprise," he said. "You're playing golf and all of a sudden, your daughter's dead. So that was hard to cope with."
