LA VERNIA, Texas – A former math teacher at La Vernia High School was arrested Friday morning and booked on child pornography charges, district Superintendent José H. Moreno said.
Moreno said Theodore De Aubrey, 57, resigned in January at the start of an FBI investigation into his alleged actions.
"Due to the nature of the ongoing federal investigation, La Vernia ISD was prohibited from sharing or releasing any information. La Vernia ISD cooperated fully with the FBI to provide them access to the former employee’s technology accounts and devices," Moreno said in a letter posted to the district's website.

Moreno told KSAT 12 News that no La Vernia students were involved in the allegations against De Aubrey. Additionaly, no district computers or technology were used.
