Hit-and-run causes chain reaction crash

One hit-and-run driver arrested

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said a hit-and-run accident was the start of a chain reaction crash involving three cars and a second driver who tried leaving the scene.

According to police, the driver of a pickup truck rear-ended a silver car then took off.

The driver of the silver car followed the pickup truck, police said. He ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 151 and Loop 410, hitting another vehicle, police said.

The driver of the silver car tried running from the scene but two bystanders caught him and kept him until police arrived. Police said the man had been wanted on warrants. He is also now charged with failure to stop and render aid.
