Medical Examiner's office ID's man found in Braunig Lake

Dive team brought body out Sunday after

SAN ANTONIO – The body of a missing kayaker has been found in Braunig Lake.

Divers and firefighters pulled the body of 46 year-old Daniel Soliz from the lake waters Sunday afternoon.

The search for Soliz began after people saw the man's empty kayak floating Saturday.

San Antonio firefighters and the SAPD helicopter combed the lake late Saturday night, then called the search until daylight.

The search began again with a dive crew and state game wardens taking the lead.

After about four hours they found Soliz and brought his body to shore.

Fire spokeswoman Deborah Foster says the victim apparently fell into the lake without a life jacket on.

She says it's a reminder for even strong swimmers to always wear a life jacket when they're on the water.
