SAN ANTONIO – Police are looking for a man who stole a TV from a Walmart store and injured an employee who tried to stop him.

When police arrived, they found the employee being treated by EMS, the police report said. The man said he saw the assailant walking the TV out of the store on a cart.

In compliance with store policy, the worker asked the man for a receipt, to prove he had purchased the TV. The man -- pictured in surveillance photos above -- told the employee that his father had the receipt. The worker said he’d need to wait and see it.

When the man kept walking out with the TV, ignoring the employee, the worker positioned himself in front of the basket, according to the police report. That’s when the two men fought over the television -- pulling and pushing on it until the assailant eventually pushed off the TV, causing the worker to fall back and hit his head on a toy-dispensing claw machine, officers said. His injuries were considered minor.

The thief took off in an older-model, blue GM pickup truck with Texas license plates. He’s described as having dark hair, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He may be between the ages of 20 and 24, police said.

The victim in the case suffered minor cuts on the back of his head. He was taken to Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital to be checked out. He’s over the age of 65, police said.

San Antonio police continue to ask for help identifying the man, who is sought on a robbery charge. Anyone with information on the man’s name or whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867). A reward of up to $5,000 is available.
