On April 29, the store clerk told police a man walked into the Valero store, located in the 2100 block of SW 36th Street off of Highway 90, around 12:30 a.m. and tried to walk out with two 18-packs of beer.

When the clerk tried to stop the man, Salazar entered the store and both men began assaulting the clerk. The victim told police a woman entered the store and grabbed one of the cases of beer, according to the affidavit.

Police said surveillance footage shows the robbery and the trio taking off in a four-door Dodge Avenger.

The affidavit states an officer later spotted the Avenger, stopped it and took the man into custody following a brief foot chase. The vehicle, however, took off from the area.

A photo lineup was shown to the victim and he was able to identify both Salazar and the man.

According to online records, Salazar has an extensive criminal history that dates back to 2007, including two previous criminal mischief charges in 2008 and 2010. He was charged with theft and assault bodily injury in 2011, as well as a charge of family assault in 2010.

The man and woman were not identified in the affidavit.

Salazar is charged with robbery, and his bail was set at $25,000.
