NTSB releases preliminary report on Uvalde bus crash that killed 13

SAN ANTONIO – The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary accident investigation report into the March 29 bus crash that killed 13 people in a church bus from New Braunfels.

According to the report, the truck that hit the bus crossed the solid white line 37 times, the double yellow centerline 19 times and drove onto the grassy roadside at least five times.

The report said everyone in the bus was wearing the available restraints and that the driver of the truck told investigators that he had taken prescribed medications.

Marijuana was also found inside the truck, the report said. The driver also said he was checking his phone at the time of the accident.
