Police release names in Seguin trailer fire being investigated as murder-suicide

SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Police Department has released the names of the two people found dead Monday morning in a trailer home near Love’s Travel Stop off Interstate 10 West and FM 477.

According to the press release, Gregory Bailey, 63, and his wife Rebecca Lynn Bailey, 55, were found by firefighters after a fire was reported by a passing motorist just before 5 a.m. on Oct. 9.

The press release said that arriving police officers found what appears to be a murder-suicide note on the fence just outside the mobile home.

The Seguin Police Department a motive is still being investigated. It is believed that one both of the occupants were experiencing significant personal health issues, officials said. 

Firefighters said it appears that the mobile home was intentionally set on fire. 

The Seguin Fire Department, Seguin Police Department, Seguin Fire Marshal’s Office, Marion VFD and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office all originally responded to the scene.
