Recall alert for Buc-ee's beef jerky due to potential for hard pieces of metal in food

SAN ANTONIO – Buc-ee’s Hill Country brand teriyaki beef jerky is being recalled, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 

Only plastic 4-ounce packages of Buc-ee’s teriyaki beef jerky were affected, according to a news release issued Friday.

The 4-ounce packages affected are labeled:

BEST BUY 08-09-2019
LOT CODE 220-272

The products may be contaminated with hard pieces of metal.

"The problem was discovered on September 17, 2018, when the establishment received a consumer complaint from a retail store customer regarding metal in the teriyaki beef jerky product,” according to the news release.

Anyone who has purchased the affected beef jerky is urged to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
