Reward tops $7K for South Texas Most Wanted fugitive

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety added Gilberto Garcia, 35, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list and a cash reward up to $7,500 is now being offered for information leading to his capture.

Garcia, a known member of the Texas Mexican Mafia gang, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault. Garcia has ties to Corpus Christi and other areas along the Texas Costal Bend.

He is wanted in connection with a Dec. 27, 2014, shooting incident in Corpus Christi that left a man dead and two others injured.  

Garcia's criminal history includes unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated sexual assault.  

Garcia is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Garcia may also be known as "Chicken Wing" or "Allas."  

He has a scar on his face and multiple tattoos on his neck, both arms and both legs.
