Massive manhunt shuts down North Star Mall

Law enforcement was looking for wanted person

SAN ANTONIO – A massive manhunt shut down North Star Mall for several hours on Tuesday.

Heavily armed law enforcement officials from several agencies — including the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Department of Public Safety and the San Antonio Police Department — blocked off every entrance to the mall while police helicopters flew overhead.

San Antonio police said they were helping federal authorities search for a wanted person near the mall. It’s unclear if anyone was found or what the person was wanted for.

The scene was cleared about 5 p.m. KSAT 12 will update this story as more information about the operation becomes available.
