Ladson was found dead Sunday near an abandoned building off Rittiman Road, a place known as a hangout for the homeless.

Witnesses told police Ladson showed up with a gun, trying to rob them, but several men overpowered him, tied him up, took his gun away and beat him with wooden boards and the gun.

Despite those allegations, Ladson’s mother said her son was robbed when he was trying to buy weed.

Edward Grant, 33, was arrested Thursday in connection to Ladson’s murder.
