Shootout in Pleasanton leaves 3 in serious condition

PLEASANTON, Texas – An argument Wednesday night in Pleasanton ended in a shootout. Police said three people were shot around 7 p.m. in the 600 block of East Adams Street.

Authorities said two groups of people came together to discuss some type of dispute over personal property. Police Chief Ronald Sanchez said two people were in a red truck and at least two more people were in a second car that left the scene.

Sanchez said when the two groups began arguing over the property things turned violent.

Two of the victims were airlifted to San Antonio hospitals, where a male victim is in critical condition.
The other victim was taken from the scene in a personal vehicle and is being treated at the South Texas Regional Hospital.

It is unclear what type of property the two groups were fighting over. Investigators said they have recovered both weapons used in the shooting.

The Pleasanton Police Department, Atascosa County Sheriff's Office and the department of public safety are working together to gather more information.
