Teens accused of torturing wildlife, videotaping themselves hurting animals

ACS launches animal cruelty investigation

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio’s Animal Care Services has launched an animal cruelty investigation following reports of teens accused of torturing local wildlife.

A group of teens videotaped themselves kicking and torturing ducks along Apache Creek, which runs from Southwest 19th Street to I-35.

Cormorants, cranes, ducks, turtles and other wildlife are all present along Apache creek.

The videos of the teens torturing the animals will not be released to the public because they show minors and are considered evidence in the investigation.

Several types of birds were seen in the videos and the suspects also confessed to hurting turtles, according to an ACS spokesperson.

ACS is asking for the public to call 311 to report any knowledge of the videotaped incidents or other instances of wildlife being cruelly treated in the area near Our Lady of the Lake University.

This story will be updated when more information is released.
