UIW enrollment up 10.5 percent from last year

School now fourth-largest private university in state

SAN ANTONIO ā€“ The University of the Incarnate Word announced Tuesday that is has set an enrollment record this year, bringing its total global enrollment to 10,984 students.

The new enrollment total is a 10.5 percent increase from last year's enrollment, the school said, and has increased in 29 of the last 30 years.

ā€œOur enrollment growth reflects the breadth and quality of UIWā€™s academic programs,ā€ UIWĀ president Dr. Lou Agnese said in a statement. ā€œJust as important, the enrollment continues to be representative of the racial and ethnic diversity of Texas.ā€

UIW has tripled its enrollment since 2000 and is now the fourth-largest private university in the state.
