SAN ANTONIO – A vacant nursing home caught fire for the second time in less than two months.

Firefighters believe Tuesday’s fire was intentionally set, as was the previous one.

The blaze happened on Goldfield Drive near Rittiman Road and Interstate 35.

Officials said transients normally go inside the building during the cold weather months. Firefighters did a check to make sure no one was inside.

The building had been boarded up in October. Weeks later, a fire broke out.

Firefighters said someone’s attempt to stay warm may have been what caused the building to go up in flames.

Arson investigators are looking into what caused both fires.
