SAN ANTONIO – Yolanda Saldivar, now 54, was sentenced to life in prison after shooting and killing Tejano superstar Selena.
Saldivar, from San Antonio, was a fan of Selena's and eventually became president of Selena's fan club.

She was later hired as an employee and was managing Selen'a clothing boutiques.
In 1995, Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr. discovered some financial discrepancies that were tied to Saldivar.
Selena had planned to meet with Saldivar at the Days Inn Motel on the morning of March 31, 1995 to retrieve financial documents.
During this meeting Saldivar pulled out a pistol and shot Selena.
A standoff would ensue in the parking lot of the Days Inn, eventually she would be arrested and charged with murder.
She will become eligible for parole on March 30, 2025
