Woman's ex-boyfriend jumps out of closet, stabs man multiple times, police say

Suspect sought following incident in 100 block of Emerald Ash

SAN ANTONIO – A man was stabbed multiple times with a large knife by a woman's ex-boyfriend who police said was hiding in a closet.

The stabbing was reported just after 2 a.m. at the Rosemont at University Park apartment complex in the 100 block of Emerald Ash on the city's far South Side.

"The victim and his girlfriend were ready to go to sleep when the girlfriend's former boyfriend emerged from the closet and began attacking and stabbing the new boyfriend," said San Antonio police spokeswoman Jennifer Rodriguez.

The 24-year-old victim suffered multiple wounds and was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition, Rodriguez said.

The ex-boyfriend immediately fled following the stabbing and is at large, police said.
