SAN ANTONIO – It’s been an incredible week for Spurs big man Boban Marjanovic.

The 7-foot Serbian giant began his dominating week on Friday while playing for the Spurs D-League affiliate in Austin.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said he wanted Marjanovic to get some playing time, but Boban did more than that, leaving an impression during his two-game stint.

Marjanovic scored 16 points and had nine rebounds with two blocks in a loss to the Westchester Knicks.

He followed that up with a 34-point, 13-rebound, two block performance on Saturday against the Reno Bighorns.

In that game, Boban channeled his inner Stephen Curry with a gorgeous behind the back assist. He also rattled a rim so hard during a dunk, the game had to be delayed.

Marjanovic was called up to the Spurs active roster for Monday’s game at Philadelphia and continued on his quest to crush anything that stands in his way.

First he posterized a pair of Sixers in the third quarter with a one-handed slam, which brought the Spurs bench to its feet.

Boban wasn’t done dominating. Late in the Spurs blowout win, Marjanovic toyed with Sixers rookie Jahlil Okafor with a series of ball fakes before hitting a fade away jumper with the shot clock winding down.

Marjanovic finished with a career-high 18 points and his legend continues to grow among Spurs fans.

It remains to be seen whether he will get more playing time down the line, but NBA teams would be wise to get out of Boban the Barbarian’s way when he’s on the court.
