SAN ANTONIO – A Spurs fan and a San Antonio business owner have filed a lawsuit against Zaza Pachulia and the Golden State Warriors.

The suit claims the injury to Kawhi Leonard has had an impact on the fans, community, season-ticket holders and those whose businesses promote the Silver and Black.

"All we are asking from the court is that this type of behavior, that can and does cause serious injury to our team and those that love it, not be allowed in San Antonio," Alfonso Kennard, Jr., lead attorney, said.

The suit was filed by Juan Vasquez and the owner of What’s on Second, Inc.

Leonard was injured in the third quarter of the Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals when Pachulia’s foot ended up under the Spurs forward while he was shooting a jump shot.

The Spurs star left the game with a sprained ankle and is unlikely to play in Game 2.

The lawsuit also referenced Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich's comments from Monday afternoon.

Popovich stunned the NBA community when he ripped apart Warriors center Zaza Pachulia for injuring star forward Kawhi Leonard in a controversial play.

“All I care about is Kawhi (Leonard) is not there (and) when you’re playing Golden State in their place, and you’re playing like that, it’s pretty cool. But this is crap,” Popovich said. “And because he has this history and it can’t just be, ‘Oh, it was inadvertent (and Pachulia) didn’t have intent.' Who gives a damn about his intent.

Popovich’s rant continued:

“Have you ever heard of manslaughter? You still go to jail, I think, when you’re texting and you end up killing somebody, but you might not have intended to do that. All I care (about) is what I saw.”
