Gasol will sign a 2-year, $30 million-plus deal with a player option after last season, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

That means Gasol will have the ability to go back into free agency in the summer of 2017 or re-sign to a larger deal with the Spurs.

Wojnarowski reported the combination of Spurs talent and his personal history with Coach Popovich was "tough to overcome."

Toronto and Portland were serious contenders to land Gasol until the end.

The Spurs knew going into free agency, any signing of a free agent meant they would have to make some significant roster moves.

Wojnarowski reports for the Spurs to complete the Gasol deal, they are working on a trade to move Boris Diaw.

Gasol can officially sign on July 7 after the free agency moratorium. Stay tuned.

Tim Duncan latest:

Tim Duncan is "leaning strongly" towards retirement, according to a report from Wojnarowski. Duncan recently opted in to his current deal, but Wojnarowski writes:

Duncan has left team officials, close associates and friends with a strong belief he's preparing to make an announcement in the near future on his departure, sources said.

Duncan has played 19 seasons and won five championships with the Spurs. He battled knee soreness last season and had the lowest statistical output of his career.

Kevin Durant latest:

Kevin Durant will play for the Golden State Warriors next season, according to a post in ThePlayersTribune.com.

Durant chose the Warriors over five other suitors that included Oklahoma City and the Spurs.

RealGM reports Durant is expected to sign a 2-year contract at $54.3 million with a Player Option for Year 2.

This is part of what Durant wrote on ThePlayersTribune.com.

The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player — as that has always steered me in the right direction. But I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth. With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Golden State Warriors.

The Spurs met with Durant on Saturday in the Hamptons. They moved on quickly and agreed to terms with Pau Gasol.

Manu returns:

Manu Ginobili announced on his personal blog that he will return for another NBA season.

The blog was written in Spanish and posted Sunday morning. Here's what Ginobili wrote via Google Translate:

The most important news to tell you is I am determined to continue playing in the NBA. Did not have many doubts, but as I recently wanted to let a little time and see the season went from a little further. The reality is that this year I feel safer and I have it even clearer than the previous year. I had a great time during the season and except for the "small" February incident was healthy at all times. I definitely want to continue enjoying the basketball a little more.

Ginobili averaged 9.6 points, 3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season with the Spurs.

This upcoming season would be Ginobili's 15th with the Spurs.
