Over the past year, Ginobili has said he would return to the Spurs for another season if he felt he could contribute and help the team win games.
Ginobili has decided there apparently is enough "grandpa juice" left in the tank for another run.

Ginobili will turn 40 years old on July 28 and was mostly healthy last season.
He averaged career lows in points and minutes played during the regular season, but saw a resurgence in his play during the Spurs recent playoff run.
He averaged 13.8 points and 2.8 assists per game during the San Antonio's series against Golden State in the Western Conference Finals.
Ginobili's return ensures at least one of the Spurs "Big 3" will be on the court when the season begins barring a preseason injury.
Tim Duncan retired last off-season and Tony Parker is rehabbing after suffering a serious leg injury in May during the Spurs playoff series against the Rockets.
Ginobili's value is now felt more off the court than on it. He is an unselfish player and a stabilizing figure in the Spurs locker room.
Ginobili has won four NBA championships with the Spurs and is a three-time NBA All-Star.
