The city of Dallas suffered a similar tragedy in July when a man fired upon a group of police officers, killing five officers and injuring nine others. Two civilians were also wounded.
The San Antonio community and others across the nation have shown a strong outpouring of support since Marconi's death.
That was extended to the AT&T Center, where the Spurs moment of silence lasted nearly 30 seconds.
