Major road construction projects wrapping up on far West Side

Westbound exit from Loop 410 to Highway 90 will close permanently Monday

SAN ANTONIO – Construction crews are getting ready to finish a major road construction project on the far West Side at the Loop 410 and Highway 90 interchange.

Starting Monday, the westbound exit from Loop 410 to Highway 90 will close permanently, so workers can build the new Hunt Lane exit ramp.

Traffic from Loop 410 will use a new ramp after Hunt Lane to get on Highway 90.

This just the first step in a series of major traffic changes over the next few weeks along Highway 90, between Loop 410 and Loop 1604.

“What you're going to see over the next couple of weeks is the process of wrapping this project up, and that's really exciting to see. We always look forward to finishing projects, especially when we have so many projects across this city,” said Josh Donat, a public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation.

There will be rerouting of traffic during this time, along with some overnight closures. Everything should be open to traffic by the end of August, as long as the weather or other factors don't snarl the project.
