SAN ANTONIO – After a round of chilly temperatures this past weekend, temperatures have really warmed up this afternoon to above-normal levels. Readings have ranged from the mid- to upper 70s, which is around 5-10 degrees above the seasonal average.
Some high cirrus clouds will continue to move into the area tonight as a good tap of Pacific moisture streams overhead. This will keep temperatures from dropping too much as we will only bottom out in the mid to lower 60s.
Clouds will dominate on Tuesday with a few isolated showers, ahead of another cold front that is moving through the 4-Corners region at this time. Highs will reach the upper 70s.
As the front gets closer to San Antonio in the late evening/overnight hours, rain chances will kick. We cannot rule out a few severe storms, especially out to the east.
Temperatures will not take a drastic drop like the previous front from last week. This one is weaker in nature. Once it passes by, the clouds will clear out and Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs in the middle 70s and it will be a rather nice day to enjoy the outdoors.
Thanksgiving Day will be mostly cloudy with morning lows in the upper 40s to lo 50s with highs in the lower 70s. It will be pleasant and fairly comfortable Turkey Day.
Another cold front, also weak in nature, will arrive by Friday morning and deliver scattered showers and storms. This will leave the weekend with mostly cloudy skies with highs generally in the 70s.
We are getting into a bit of an active weather pattern with some frontal boundaries becoming the normal. They will mainly deliver temporary rain chances and only slightly modified cooler weather. Still don’t see a front that has real cold arctic air associated with it.
The KSAT Weather Authority Team will continue to monitor the forecast and update with any new information.
