Mary Rominger

Sports Anchor/Reporter

Mary Rominger joined the KSAT 12 sports team in July 2023 as the station’s first full-time female sports anchor and reporter.
 
She came to San Antonio from Mankato, Minnesota, where she learned the ropes as an MMJ, news anchor/reporter and sports anchor/reporter over the course of a four-year span at KEYC News Now.
 
Mary’s time in southern Minnesota was highlighted by her coverage of the Minnesota State men’s hockey team’s Frozen Four run in Boston, Minnesota Vikings training camp, as well as a wide range of high school sports championships.
 
She graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication along with minors in sports and rec., women’s and gender studies and leadership.
 
Her passion for sports began at an early age, attending Dodgers games as early as 1998. From then on, Mary was in attendance for many Los Angeles sporting events including the Kings first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history. Mary knew as early as 6th grade that she wanted to pursue sports journalism.
 
In her free time, Mary enjoys golfing, watching sports and finding new spots to eat and hang out around town. She also enjoys content creation, podcasting and vlogging.
 
Mary is a Southern California native and graduated from Los Alamitos High School in Orange County, California.
 
 She’s ready to immerse herself in everything surrounding football and Spurs.
