SAN ANTONIO – A fatal multi-vehicle crash shut down the main lanes of Interstate 10 East near Comfort early Monday morning, according to Transguide.
The multi-vehicle crash happened around 7:45 a.m. It is unclear how the crash occurred. Transguide, however, reports that at least one person was killed in the incident.

Traffic is currently being forced to exit before US Highway 87 and then go through Comfort. Authorities advise using an alternate route if possible.
Transguide also reports that a second fatal crash happened on the WB access road at I-10 West at FM-1621/Exit 527. The second crash was reported at 9:44 a.m. Neither victim in either crash has been identified.
