If you're looking for some family fun this fall, Beachtoberfest is happening in Port Aransas.

To kick off Beachtoberfest, David Elder, host of Elder Eats, checked out the sizzlin' success of the Texas Super Chef Throwdown Series this past weekend, featuring 10 cook-offs and 30 chefs from around Texas in a four-day event.

World Food Championships

Ten chefs at the Texas Super Chef Throwdown Series received a golden ticket to secure their spot in the World Food Championships in Dallas on October 16-20.

The World Food Championships will feature 500 teams and approximately $400,000 will be awarded.

"It's the largest, craziest, baddest cooking competition on the planet," said Mike McCloud, the president and CEO of World Food Championships. "It's like the Super Bowl meets March Madness, only with a bunch of chefs."
