Toshiba recalls laptop battery packs

Batteries may overheat causing burns, fires

SAN ANTONIO – Toshiba has recalled 91,000 laptop computer battery packs, because they may overheat, causing burns or fire.

The recall involves Panasonic lithium-ion battery packs installed in 39 models of Toshiba Portege, Satellite and Tecra laptops. The packs have part numbers that begin with G71C.

They were sold from June 2011 through January 2016.

Consumers can go to us.toshiba.com and click on "Consumer Notices" to see if their laptops are affected.

200,000-plus garden shear recalled

Fiskars re-announced its recall of 277,000 32-inch bypass lopper shears after continued reports of injuries.

The lopper handles can break when attempting to cut branches. Several injuries have been reported.

The shears, sold at Home Depot, have model number 6954. Consumers can contact the company through Fiskars.com and click on "Product Notifications" for more information and to get a free replacement.

IKEA lamps recalled

More than 30,000 IKEA lamps are recalled, because they pose a shock danger.

The lamps are Gothem floor and table models sold since October 2015. Consumers should return them to IKEA.

Manhattan Toy Company recall

Thousands of toys are being recalled by Manhattan Toy Company. The round plastic beads on the Busy Loops table top toys can break, posing a choking hazard.

The model number is 700470 with the lot code FH printed on the bottom.

Consumers should return the toy to the store for a refund.
