AUSTIN – The San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity Charter School was back in Austin on Wednesday to answer questions from state education leaders.
The move comes after the Texas Education Agency told the school last week they were temporarily suspending its funding.

This was not the first the time the school leaders were in Austin. Earlier this year, the education agency closed the school due to numerous health violations reported by Metro Health.
In March, the TEA closed the school’s doors, because the school was unable to “adequately safeguard the welfare of its students in compliance with Texas law." The document showed a 72-hour suspension notice was given back on Feb. 16, claiming the school needed to provide a health inspection with no violations. It mentions prior deficiencies that threatened student health and safety were never corrected.

The TEA said Wednesday’s suspension hearing was closed to the public, and was required as part of procedure.
