The $20 million building will be able to house 382 students in semi-suite style units.
“Research shows that on average, students living on campus have nearly a one-point higher GPA, achieve greater personal growth, have increased social interactions with their peers and are significantly more open to diversity,” said A&M-SA University President Cynthia Teniente-Matson. “So, the residence hall will be more than just another beautiful building on campus— it will be a place of belonging and a home on campus that opens the door for opportunity.”
The residence hall will be offered to incoming freshmen first, and any remaining vacancies will be filled by other students as needed.
The building will include a community center, game and mail room, fitness center and academic success center.
The name was chosen by students in a campus-wide vote.
