SAN ANTONIO – If you’re a fan of burgers, fries and shakes (and who isn’t?!?) there’s a new option opening later this month. Shake Shack is opening its first San Antonio restaurant soon.
The chain, which originated in New York City, is known for its burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches, as well as its crinkle-cut fries and frozen custard. The San Antonio location will also serve craft beer and wine.

The San Antonio Shake Shack is located in the Park North Shopping Center, across from North Star Mall on San Pedro.
The menu will feature items with some locally-sourced ingredients. According to a press release, the menu will feature a Lockhart Link Burger with a jalapeno cheese sausage link from the famous Kruez Market in Lockhart.
One of their custard options will feature a cookie from Bird Bakery; another will have pie from The Granary ‘Cue & Brew. Some of the craft beers will also be local brews.
There isn’t an exact opening date yet, but the release says it will happen in August.
Expect lines to be long, at least initially. Shake Shack has an app that will let you order ahead.
There are currently six other Shake Shack locations in Texas. Those restaurants are located in Dallas, Plano, Houston, and Austin.
