Shake Shack announces opening date in San Antonio

Free concretes for first 50 in line

SAN ANTONIO – Shake Shack has announced that it will be open for business in San Antonio on Wednesday, August 23. The doors will open for customers at 11 a.m.

The first 50 guests in line will get a free "Pie Oh My" concrete which is vanilla custard with a slice of buttermilk chess pie from The Granary 'Cue & Brew mixed in.

The chain, which originated in New York City, is known for its burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches, as well as its crinkle-cut fries and frozen custard. The San Antonio location will also serve craft beer and wine.

The San Antonio Shake Shack is located in the Park North Shopping Center, across from North Star Mall on San Pedro. It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The menu will feature items with some locally-sourced ingredients. According to a press release, the menu will feature a Lockhart Link Burger with a jalapeno cheese sausage link from the famous Kruez Market in Lockhart.

One of their custard options will feature a cookie from Bird Bakery; another will have pie from The Granary ‘Cue & Brew. Some of the craft beers will also be local brews.
